On April 17th, 2021, the UCI Rocket Project accomplished our third static test fire of our Preliminary Test Engine (PTE) with unprecedented performance and efficiency. After implementing some design and procedure changes, it resulted in our best static test fire yet. We completed testing in a personal record of 2 hours at the Friends of Amateur Rocketry test site. From our data, PTE burned for about 7 seconds, producing a peak thrust of 950 lbs. and steady state thrust of 880 lbs. You can watch the test fire video in full audio or watch the full livestream.
Special congratulations and thanks to the excellent team that made this test fire successful.
