The UCI Rocket Project has completed its test stand, named “Cold Brew” to stick with the team’s coffee themed nomenclature. The purpose of Cold Brew is to allow the team to have easy set up and data collection during each test fire. Set up will no longer be done on-site, but rather in the lab before departure, where accurate preparations can be ensured. Cold brew does this by allowing the team to pre-mount all plumbing components, the engine, liquid oxygen and methane tanks, sensors, and more. Cold Brew saves the team several hours on-site because it is stationed on wheels in order to allow the structure to be rolled up to the I-beam and assembled within the hour. After the test fire, all components can be easily removed, cleaned, replaced, and modified for future upgrades with ease.
